Role
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
The ideal candidate will be pro-active, competent in prioritising and working with little supervision in a busy office environment.
This role is varied and requires someone who it organised and accommodating as they will be dealing with multiple requests daily on top of their daily tasks.
We have a junior apprentice in the department, and so we are looking for someone who has experience of supervising staff.

Duties
Duties to include:
- Answering the telephone and taking telephone messages
- Managing diaries

- Daily banking

Vacancy description
The purpose of this role is to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the partners and senior staff and to undertake various reception and administration duties.
The main role of the apprentice will be carrying out trainee administration and clerical tasks, and to support senior staff and partners with any suitable tasks.
The role is varied and will include the following duties:
- Processing incoming and outgoing post
- Keeping client databases up to date
- Maintaining storage of client records – recording on system and providing advice to clients for collection
- Producing regular letters through practice software
- Binding annual accounts and sending to clients
- Answering the telephone transferring calls and taking messages Taking cheques to bank
- Meeting and greeting visitors, and other reception duties as required
- Other administrative duties such as scanning and filing documents on paperless system, and photocopying documents

– at least 24 month’s prior practice exposure in book-keeping using Xero, and preparing year end accounts for limited companies and sole traders.

– to be AAT qualified or studying ACCA/ICAEW
– to be Xero certified

Key Responsibilities:
You will have your own portfolio of accountancy and tax clients. During the audit season you may part of the audit team to ensure audits are delivered effectively and efficiently.

Managing your client portfolio, ensuring client service levels are maintained
Preparation of management accounts
Preparation of statutory accounts under FRS102 including consolidations
Preparation of charity accounts under SORP
Preparation / Reviewing VAT Returns and personal tax returns for submission to HMRC
Conducting audits for medium and large limited companies
Conducting SRA audits
Review work carried out by trainees
Your experience & qualifications
You will be ACCA/ICAEW qualified / part qualified and have at least three year’s recent practice experience in a firm of chartered accountants
In addition you will need
– experience with client contact in order to answer their queries, either via email, in a meeting, on the phone or via video conference
– to be well organised
– to be a self starter
– experience on audits, including planning and undertaking tests
– to be willing to learn new systems and adapt to changing working practices (as the firm becomes more automated and the world of accountancy changes)
