Paul Aspinall helps build the systems his colleagues use every day, and makes time to help them when those systems need attention. That combination is why his colleagues made him Employee of the Month for May 2026.
Building what the team runs on
The nominations listed work that clients never see but staff rely on: the personal tax roll-forward, new features in the client portal, updates to the firm’s internal daily forms, tidying up old VAT periods, and a long run of work on the working-paper templates known in the office as aide memoires.
One colleague put it this way: “Great work on aide memoires, including all the extra new features, alongside still being very approachable with all tech issues.”
Colleagues valued the second half of that as much as the first: Paul builds the tools and stays approachable when people need help using them.
